Mostly what God does is love you. Keep company with him and learn a life of love. Observe how Christ loved us. His love was not cautious but extravagant. He didn’t love in order to get something from us but to give everything of himself to us. Love like that. (Ephesians 5:2 MSG)
In general I shy away from the Message translation of the Bible, but I came across this verse in that translation—and yea. I love it.

Most people, if we are being honest, have a hard time receiving love like this because we have a hard time believing in a love like this. But it is true in every sense. And we, as belonging to Him, can give love like this too. Ours won’t be perfect as His is, but as we spend time with Him and allow Him to transform us, we are changed. We begin to reflect His love to a world so desperately in need of it.
Love like that.
