Mark Chapter 5 is powerful, and yet is missed by so many. We remember the story of the demon-possessed man and the swine (pigs) who run off the cliff and into the sea after Jesus casts these demons (Legion, or many) out of the man—but do we understand it’s relation to today?
I suffered mental illness and indeed, that is all that was plaguing this man as well. We picture Catholic exorcisms and things of that nature, but look deeper into the ministry and life of Jesus. He drives them out by the power of His mighty name.
Speak Jesus into your wounds! The man returns to his right mind, as He did for me as well!
Continuing in the Chapter, a woman with “a flow of blood for twelve years” who “had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse.” (Mark 5:25-26) Been there, done that! Man cannot heal us of our afflictions, but only our Lord and King—Jesus!
There is power in the name of Jesus, and there is power in the Word of our Father! Use these mighty spiritual weapons yourself!
I pray He speaks to you, and He will if you but seek Him first, above all else!
